Who We Are

Building Pathways for Every Student

Bending Back Barriers is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to strengthening educational outcomes for children and teens of color in predominantly Black, low-income urban and rural communities in and around Philadelphia.

Rather than constructing new schools, we build, maintain, and expand partnerships with existing schools that serve at-risk populations — delivering direct classroom support, essential learning materials, nutritional assistance, and access to behavioral and emotional health services.
